First Post, Second Life Blog
So this is the first post of this blog that I am required to do, or I might fail.
I don't like Blogging, or social media in general, BUT i am writing this.
Soooooooo.
When I started this, I had known about second life from a documentary I watched.
The documentary for the most part, had shown people in their basement eating McDonald's and living out their fantasy life on a video game.
Once I had gotten started a couple hours before class, I made up an avatar (I picked the simplest looking one) and got started on trying to figure out the controls.
During the introduction, I briefly talked to a couple of people over chat. I was expecting the worst to be honest, and my first interaction was not all that bad. After that though, a couple people that talked to seemed to either REALLY want to be the character they were playing, or that they genuinely believed it.
After learning how to fly, I flew around the area for a little while as well , and it astounded me how massive the world in the game actually is.
I went through the first class and our lecturer talked to us about the class schedule and whatnot.
I was surprised that everyone else picked the craziest looking avatars, and I was actually the weirdo sitting next to monsters and angels and shit.
